Welcome from the Argentine tango group for Gainesville, Florida and north
central Florida. In this site you will learn
about Argentine tango, coaching, training, lessons, classes, workshops and practice.
The original "Argentine" tango is different from the "ballroom"
tango commonly seen at ballroom dance competitions. The Argentine tango is closer and more
natural, with the men holding the women in a close embrace. This tango style is danced
socially in the salons of Buenos Aires. With the Argentine tango, the man and woman play
with each other in a flirtatious way. This is why the Silicon Valley Metro Newspaper
called the tango "the 3 minute romance." This style of tango was seen in the
movie "The Tango
Lesson" and the stage production "Forever Tango",
which ran on Broadway for an unprecedented two years! Continue
